Plant Office

When my partner and I were planning our wedding, there was only one place we considered for florals: Plant Office. We have seen their work all over Portland and knew that John and his team could create something a bit different than traditional wedding flowers, something that felt like us. We sat down with John and described a very esoteric vision using words like "drippy" and "moody" and were more clearly able to articulate what we didn't want than what we actually liked. This was no problem at all. Within a day he had prepared a proposal and palette that somehow captured everything we said and did not say - he absolutely nailed it. He was extremely helpful and clear on pricing, timelines, and options for proceeding and made the entire process the most effortless part of planning the entire wedding. On the day of, which proved to be extremely stressful (who knew!), the Plant Office team's installation went flawlessly and required nothing of us. The most beautiful part of our event was their work - including boutonnieres, bouquets, and a drippy plant installation at the altar and in the reception area. I thought my dress would be the element that would make me feel most special, bu

We used John/The Plant Office for our wedding and his work was absolutely exceptional. Really unbelievably stunning. Working with him on our aesthetic was easy because of how knowledgeable and organized John was. The whole process was effortless on our end and let us focus on our day. Thank you for all the attention and care that went into your work, it really showed. Highest of recommendations!!

Jon was fantastic to work with for our wedding. He was very responsive, creative, and genuinely fun throughout the process. He communicated clearly about scope and helped us stay within our budget while still creating a beautiful setup. You can really tell he cares about his work and about delivering the best possible result. We were thrilled with how everything turned out and would highly recommend him.

We worked with John for our wedding this past October and had a wonderful experience. We didn't have a clear vision of what we wanted for florals — we wanted to be able to hand it off to someone who would be excited to come up with their own designs. John was a fantastic partner in that. They asked thoughtful questions about our needs and budget, explained the thought process they were going through as they considered what pieces we were looking for, and were overall a great resource for this part of our day. We absolutely loved how the florals came out! As a bonus, we forgot to grab the bouquets at the end of the night. John came back to clean up once the event had ended, and when we realized the next morning, they coordinated with us so that we could head over to the shop and pick them up and hold onto a piece of the work they did. That extra care and consideration meant so much!

I came to John Sundling with a creative vision for my wedding flowers. He listened, took notes, asked the right questions—and then took it somewhere I couldn't have imagined on my own. What arrived wasn't just flowers. It was atmosphere. The arrangements transformed the room in a way that matched the exact tone and intention of our wedding. Somehow John understood not just what I asked for, but what I was trying to say. The result was a work of art. Otherworldly, honestly. Not that I'm planning on getting married again, but if I did? I wouldn't call anyone else. Plant Office is the real thing.
